Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 18, 2026 · Talon Tutoring (“Talon,” “we,” “us”) is operated by Ingenious Falcons Inc.

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Talon learning platform, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). Your school, district, or employer may have additional notices or agreements that also apply; where they conflict on matters they control (for example roster data), their terms may govern that portion of processing.

Information we collect

We may collect categories of information such as:

  • Account and profile data: name, email address, role (for example learner, parent, instructor, administrator), institution affiliation, and preferences you set in the product.
  • Educational and activity data: courses, assignments, submissions, grades where shown, skills progress, forum posts you author, certificates, portfolio items you choose to store, and similar learning records needed to operate the LMS.
  • AI interaction data: prompts, responses, and metadata from AI tutoring and study features, used to deliver the experience, maintain safety, debug, and improve reliability. Retention and visibility may be limited by your deployment (for example whether instructors or parents see full transcripts).
  • Optional media and readiness signals: where enabled, camera or microphone inputs for study readiness, proctoring, or similar features, subject to consent and configuration by your institution.
  • Technical and usage data: device type, browser, IP address, approximate location, log events, cookies, and analytics needed for security, performance, and product improvement.
  • Payment data: if you purchase subscriptions or content through integrated checkout, payment details are processed by our payment partners; we typically receive limited billing metadata, not full card numbers.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, personalize, and secure the Services;
  • Authenticate users and enforce roles and permissions;
  • Operate AI features with appropriate safeguards and content policies;
  • Communicate about the Services, support requests, and important changes;
  • Meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests;
  • Analyze aggregate or de-identified usage to improve the product.

Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on appropriate bases such as contract (providing the Services you or your institution requested), legitimate interests (security, product improvement balanced against your rights), consent where required (for example optional analytics or marketing communications), and legal obligation.

Children’s privacy

Talon may be used in K–12 contexts. Where students are under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region), we expect schools or parents to provide consent and create accounts as required by applicable law (including COPPA where it applies). Parents or guardians can contact their institution or us regarding children’s information as described below.

Sharing and subprocessors

We may share information with:

  • Your school, district, or organization, according to their configuration and agreements;
  • Service providers who host infrastructure, deliver email, process payments, or provide AI models and safety tooling, under confidentiality and data-processing terms;
  • Professional advisers or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information as traditionally defined, and we do not share student data for targeted advertising in K–12 contexts.

Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Schools may have their own retention policies for certain records. AI logs may be retained for a shorter or configurable period depending on deployment settings.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong passwords and protect your credentials.

International transfers

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our subprocessors operate. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Learners in managed deployments should often start with their school’s data administrator. You may also contact us as below. Authenticated users can review several privacy-related controls inside the app (for example notification and accessibility settings) where available.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
